At home, Nov 1

Started the day off by doing some CLEANING. As of now, we've got our accessories hanged up on the rack, Bianca has put up her birthday tarpaulin [sp?], the one her friends gave her for her birthday, and all in all, I'm feeling proud and happy of myself (although cleanliness came at the expense of discovering dusty, grimy lumps which were actually my things).

Belated to Kuya Luis.

I was running around the internet, looking for Macbeth-as-a-tragic-hero research, when I came across this site: http://www.online-literature.com/forums

It's a forum where people discuss literature. I think you'd like it, Sybil. Just a word of advice: don't go into the philosophical discussion thread, unless you're either ready to flame (and be flamed) or wind up feeling like you're getting cross-eyed and dizzy from the influx of arguments (and ideas). Also, it would be good to just read along some threads, as they're discussing books (those heavy classics!!!) that I haven't even heard of yet; it's those times that shutting up is the best bet to comprehension-- maybe I'll eventually read those books as I go along. For now it's good to absorb as much as I can; perhaps someday I'll gradually go "AHA!" and finally get what they were talking about.

It's NOVEMBER!!! Which means I have to start squirming in my seat and get the guilt off my mind by actually doing the IP.

I HATE the IP. Blah.
---

Hindi rin ako pumasok nung 2nd day of Intrams. I was so... TIRED. Grabe. Sa sobrang pagod, guilt-free na nga yung pag day-off ko e. Hehe. Siguro ganun din yung iba-- puro mga hindi papasok yung mga kakilala ko e.

Ilan kaya yung nag-absent nung Saturday?

Awe and ode to my guru

I think my piano teacher is the coolest ever. I actually want to write an ode to her right now-- an ode to my teacher, who was in a good mood a while ago (probably because I practiced my piece an hour before-- yehey, may oras na ko magpraktis!). She's currently taking night classes, studying how to style a person, and do make-up at the Center for Aesthetic Arts (did I get that right?), which is also internationally accredited. Huwaw. Meron na kong mapagtatanungan para sa prom! Yay!

Another one of her piano students, Charles (ang pinakamagaling sa aming lahat), is already a professional photographer, so I suppose it won't be long before Teacher begins trying her skills. Sister-in-law din niya nasa showbiz so there's a lot of opportunity to practice.
You know that feeling that you're just so happy to have met a person that you don't really mind if you talk or not, cause you're so awed by that person? Ganun ako kay Teacher (Kristine), kaya nahihiya ako makipagdaldalan, kahit na more or less ten years lang agwat namin. Hehe, hindi ko siya idol. Pero malapit na rin dun.

Naka 99% ako sa Geom UT2!

HYESS!!! Pambawi sa Algebra! May pag-asa pa ko sa UP.

Ang saya talaga ng Geom. Ngayon ko lang na-appreciate. :D :D

Two more tests to go. Onti-na-lang!

Tagaytay:

Okay, I'll make this quick since I'm a *little* late with this.
We went to Tagaytay two Sundays ago for Tito Lito's birthday. Huwaw. As you can see from the pictures, everything was great! It was a Spanish buffet, by the way. I tried to eat a LITTLE bit of everything (which is the only strategy for a buffet that won't make you throw up), which means I had one plate for the salad, two plates with bits of the main dishes, soup, two plates of dessert, a cup of chocolate mousse and water. Sobrang sarap ng pumpkin soup, saka ng pata tim. I ate dessert after watching the cultural presentation; as in gusto ko nang pakyawin nang sunod sunod pero I knew it would be better to savor it after digesting some of the things I ate, kaya... grabe, super duper self control. My cousins were already so deep into the dessert and I was getting distracted because of envy. Haaaaay. But it paid off. Sobrang sinulit ko na yung bayad.

And another thing: I actually went to Taal Vista way way waaaay back when I was a small kid. Like, before schooling age. And I enjoyed it so much, but never knew what place it was. So when they told me that we had gone there before and all, I was just so happy! I have this pink jacket I wore there the first time we went; I took the jacket again this time (and it still fits me, mind you). I'm just sorry I wasn't able to see the playground... or maybe they already tore it down? Oh well. Nostalgia. I love you Tagaytay.

Last Saburday:

Okay, ang sabog ng araw nun.
Another session of review classes. Gah, school activities are taking up all of my Saturdays!!! I wasn't planning on going, because I couldn't bear the thought of sitting in class, listening to Mr. Geom Teacher again (Sorry, it's just a personal preference; I swear, I like Sir Andie better). Mom ordered me to go, so I did, and I arrived there one hour late. Yak, napaka-walang hiya. Anyway, good thing it was a pure Algebra session. It helped with the test, although siyempre, I don't really see the point of knowing the Domain and Range and whether it's a function or not. Go to hell domain and range! I wouldn't really give a damn.

We went to Bianca, Joanne and Jamie's joint birthday celebration in the Cottonwoods' clubhouse-- I was mussed and cranky from the butt cramps due to traffic (and to think it's only a small distance from school, but noooo, it had to take us an hour to get there), but I got there alright. Angelo was there, as well as his cousin, Miggy (btw, si Angelo yung prom date ni Ate, so Ghe, Aya, yun yung pangalan niya). Now Miggy likes this girl, which happens to be one of Bianca's friends, and he wanted to ask her to the prom, which explains why he was pale and clammy and shaking. The three of us (Angelo, me and Ate) kept teasing him into doing it, which was fun. Such a great guy. In the end, he finally asked her, not on the balcony, not by the swimming pool, but by the comfort room. (Not the ideal place but... at least it wasn't cheesy. Baduy nga lang. But it was the only time she wasn't surrounded by her friends.) The three of us watched from our table; we couldn't make out what the result was so we asked him.

Us: What did she say?
Him: She said... "Let's get out of the bathroom."
Me: What?!
Him: "Let's get out of the bathroom."

And that, my friends, is why we were stumped, for a good few moments of the evening.

Me: I never knew there was an answer like that. I always thought it was either "yes" or "no".
Angelo: *moment of silence* That answer... is so... ALIEN.

We tried translating it. I suppose she meant she needed time to think about it.

I do think it'll end well though. He's a good guy anyway.

Today:

Algeb and AP test. I wasn't worried about AP because Ms Henson isn't the sort to give questions on obscure details. Turns out, I was wrong. So... Hello damnation. I did intelligent guessing on most parts, especially the ones with names. Why do medieval rulers have to number themselves?! I can't keep track of all the Louises, Gregories, Urbans, Leos, Henries, Richards, Johns, Alfreds, Pauls and their annoying roman numerals. What's worse is they kept going to war with all sorts of people, in all sorts of wars, and I can't really remember anything else except for the conclusion that they are war freaks.

Okay. I'm in no state of mind to continue this sensibly.

Noong pumunta kaming Tagaytay

I'm uploading the rest of the pictures later. Or else it would kill me. (I tried to resize them to humane proportions.)

Note: if you're going to Tagaytay, go to Taal Vista Hotel (lugar ng kabataan ko! but that's a story for another time). Good service, good facilities, good food (!!!), good everything.

Inggit kayo?

O ayan. Mas inggit kayo. Haha. Grabe, ang sarap ng lahat ng dessert nila (buffet pa)! It's too bad it was taken at an awkward angle-- we didn't do it much justice but it was superb, I tell you.

Eagleman. They had a small cultural presentation in the middle of the lunch. Ang saya ng dance na to.

Mga manlalatik. Or the lost boys of Never Never Land.

This shot's pretty cool. I like her expression. Come to think of it, I like picturing moving objects rather than still ones. What comes up is so random.

Oh this. The chandeliers. They were pretty, so I took a picture of them. Um... aerial design inspiration for the prom.

Onga pala Za, si GLORFINDEL pala yung elf na dapat sa Lord of the Rings. Haha, yak, niresearch pa.

Ibabad lang

I missed the class picture yesterday (and the LAB prac test and the Envi Ed long test the day before that, but that's not important now). DRAT! I wanted to see how I'd do in this class picture-- afterall, it's my first time being away from III-3. I imagined it to be strange, but fun too. The wonderful thing about being with new people is I got to grow in a different way, maybe in a way I wouldn't have passed if I was still in my old section. I'm so sorry to have missed the class pic!!!! EAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH.

To III-1: you're different, but I love you all the same!

Drat my cold, and this evil sickness. I haven't passed the parish thing yet, and the rosary. Darn(!!!).

Career talk: really helpful, though I wished some of them would hurry up a bit because I didn't care a whit as to what they were saying anymore. I really liked the guy from Advertising. And his presentation too! Ang galing galing! Gusto ko tuloy mag-advertising.

Sir Andie was behind me during the career talk, and mai gudness! Ang kulit niya!!! Tapos hihirit siya ng corny na nakakainis. Pero yung nakakainis na nakakatuwa na nakakairita na nakakaentertain din. Get? At least medyo gising pa ko sa bandang huli dahil sa kanya. Masarap makipagkulitan kay Sir Andie (DANCING QUEEN is a classic!!!). Para siyang kabarkada.

Buti na lang Geom teacher namin siya. Comedy ebridei!

Let there be the internet

Doing some Chem project.

Ah. It feels good to be online.

To quickly sum up what happened during the storm:

The wind was frikkin strong, and the rain kept coming in, so we spent two hours last Thursday sealing every crack in the house and mopping the wet stuff that infiltrated the defenses. No electricity for around five days, but we thrived on the generator. Just think, what if this is what life would be like if there was world war... So yes, I do appreciate electricity very mucho now.

We watched the second Ateneo game vs UST. The drums were cool! I liked standing in front of them and feeling the tiny hairs on my arms getting blown every time they were beating. But the UST crowd was a lot more upbeat and enthusiastic, and therefore a lot cooller, if nobody minds me saying so (I secretly hoped UST would score so I could watch them go "Go USTe!" thrice; trust me, it's just absolutely RIVETING). Ateneo: you have to update your cheers for peanuts' sake! If it's not "Go Ateneo!", it's "Get that ball!"; the Blue Eagle spelling only comes in at halftime, and Lord knows I can't spell right when I'm watching something!

Oh well. Game 3 was a really really good fight, though I felt sorry for Intal when he was crying afterwards. I may not be a die-hard fan (I'm actually no loyalist) but... Intal, I share your heartbreak. *moment of silence*

Anyway.

It's been a good week, I think. I got most of the test scores back and I'm happy to say there's been a lot of improvement. What's peculiar though is I seem to be dropping in my best subjects and doing better on the others. A good thing? I'm not sure. I'm rolling my eyes at Algebra though; I'm just no good at the damned thing so I won't obssess about how hideous the test was.

I missed our fellowship day. AWWW. I wanted to go! I had my costume ready and all, and I know it sounds dorky, but I'm sad at having missed it. Dad got carried away by his three-hour chess match for the fiesta tournament; it was 11 when they finished! I didn't go because I think being late for four hours is impolite. I just felt bad at not having the dessert. I think it was an apple-something, and it sounded good, and it sucks not tasting it. Dad apologized and bought me a donut for sweet tooth's sake. Unfortunately, had I know that I would be eating FOUR kinds of cake today (because of Bianca's birthday and the subdivision fiesta) I would've passed on the donut. Eargh. Fatness no goodness.
