Mumbo jumbo good enough?

Introduction

Education is an important factor in the formation of a human being. That said, methods in educating are ever-changing, because we as humans change rapidly too. Hence, the teaching style of the past generation may not be as effective when applied to the present generation. The study aims therefore to find out what teaching method best applies to, specifically, 2nd grade female students: a direct approach that accommodates their attention span, or a creative approach that is able relate the topic to other ideas.

It has been found that short attention spans are linked to the frequency of television viewing, a study showing that every hour of television exposure increased a child’s chances of concentration problems by 10% (USAToday, 2004). This is the basis for our first setup, considering the frequency of television watching of children today. However, according to The Levels of Processing (Craik & Lockhart, 1972), “stimulus information is processed at multiple levels… the ‘deeper’ the processing, the more that will be remembered…”, meaning that ideas that are able to associate with familiar knowledge, strong visuals or particular experiences are more likely to be retained and understood. When the topic personally interests the student, it is learned better because of self-motivation (Rogers, 1969). Also, it has been observed that stimulating students in order to reinforce their interest (Skinner & Pavlov, n.d.), and them being actively involved in the process of learning, than simply being fed information, helps them to learn more (Cross, 1987).

....

What is that? THAT, my dear friends, is the introduction for my investigatory paper. So tell me... did you get it? Cause if you do, then that means I've reached the goal of the intro, which is to explain a little. If you get what we're going to do, masaya na ako dun. If you have questions, please DO ask them, so I can add info to it. I don't really know how our paper looks to an outsider.

I'm still not finished with that. It's not even ended well, doi. And I'm sorry if the sentence construction isn't my scientific-sounding best. I'm a bit... uninspired lately. But I'd camouflage my ignorance in better times. Haha, kidding.

One note on questions: Just please DON'T ask for the sake of looking like a smart ass, like saying a lot of scientific what nots and challenging this and blah blah blah. And DON'T do round-about questions like "So you're saying that this and this and so on, but this and that will blah blah blah, so how can you be sure that blah blah blah? Is that what you're saying? Huh? HUH?!?"

*tears hair*

*sigh*
