Legacy

I went to Bianca's Legacy event yesterday. Mom and Dad did too. I was waiting for them at the front of the Multi-- for FOUR hours dammit! Nasa kanila yung damit ko pati yung tickets. Worse, they lost them.

The first performance was a dance by the different sections. Oh man... those were the most painful minutes of my life. I could not help but CRINGE. Ang labo pa ng sayaw nila. And they were so KIDDIE! Kids na feeling grown-up. Ganun ba ko kabata nung grade 7 ako?! Add to that the mortification of hearing Dad going "Alright! More! More!" in a LOUD voice. At that moment, I am not related to them.

Yung masama lang dun, parang laging off-beat yung pagsayaw, kasi mukhang nagugulat sila dahil walang specific "1, 2, 3, GO!" signal.

I couldn't bear to watch the whole time.

Well anyway, after that and a bit more stuff, Stonefree came up the stage. They played just three songs, since they were the "surprise" band. But it was great.

And then it hit me.

SAM CONCEPCION! OMAIGAS! And he was like, an armslength away from me when he went up! And it hit me too late for me to do anything about it. He sang and danced and, to put it in finer terms, made us all scream. That guy's just OOZING with charisma. Ang lakas ng appeal, grabe~! Nadadala niya yung dance number niya. Seeing him in person made me think... medyo hawig siya ni Angelo. Yeah, gwapo si Angelo, but Sam definitely takes my vote, hands down, because of slamming appeal. The side of the stage was crowded with squealing girls waiting to mob him once he gets out of the sanctuary of the stage. The look on his face was so funny. He looked bewildered by the crowd. I didn't wait to see how he'd get down though. I went back to my former spot.

The next band was Cueshe. Fine, I don't like them. Jay's too greasy. Ruben passes as tolerable. I asked Billy (who's a girl, and also the last person I'd expect to see squealing at Cueshe) what Jay's purpose was.

Billy: Cute.
Me: Oh...
Billy: He's gay. He's in a relationship with the guitarist.

Most likely she was joking sarcastically, but then, we never know... I tried listening to their worth as their musicians. Performance-wise, they're okay. Although that doesn't count much, since the Assumption crowd during these concerts at the field are so excellent, you'll have fun whether you like the band or not. Sobrang saya, promise. Well yun, natapos sila. MYMP was next. By that time, sobrang hamog na hamog na ko. I wanted to dance when Retrospect goes up but I was feeling too cold for that and had to seek refuge in the car. And I fell asleep. AWWW. I like dancing the retro songs. Sayang.

All in all, the whole affair was better than expected (except for the dances though). I'll be sure to attend the 4th years' legacy concert too, which has Bamboo, Itchyworms and Hale, I think. YEAAAAAAH! I can't wait! Bambu, bambu, bambu, bambu, bambu... Sana makuha rin ni Carissa yung RockEd. That would be the coolest way to top off the school year.

(Sorry, just copy and paste that on your address bar cause I can't do the linky thing.)

I actually got that from Neil Gaiman's blog. (Yeah, it's a favorite haunt of mine; no surprise.) It's pretty good, typos aside (but take note, I haven't read the whole thing; just a few pages. I don't know how my opinion would differ from yours). It sort of hit me as some sort of Constantine thing, though not exactly the same (or if not that, maybe a cooler Ghostbusters thing). And the art (which is great, by the way) reminds me of Dream (or even the whole Sandman) in some panels. It does have slight inaccuracies though. For example, just WHERE in Manila do you find a woman wearing a TRENCHCOAT? Haha, parang anlamig dito sa Pinas di ba... Or maybe it's just in that "dark corner of Manila"? It's still worth taking a look into though. Or if that isn't enough, you should at least support your fellowmen. (Patriotic na pala, kumbaga.)

So yun. Kain na ako. Piano later. (Pang-hotel na raw ako sabi ni Shei. HAHAHA, tenks. Astig din yung sax mo. Tapos kayo ni Zarah, Jenina, Pen at Angel marunong pa mag-kulintang. Uy, patriotic moment ulit, haha. *saludo* Hehe.)
