The rating isn't what's stopping me

Why don't I want to watch the Da Vinci Code?

Hmmm...

First of all, I'm sick of all the publicity and the controversy it's getting. I'm actually more irritated of the fact that the people who're making money off this movie has us eating out of their hands-- meaning that they're gleefully raking in the moolah while those leaders who have nonsensically tried to stick their bulk where it isn't wanted (and so have thus probably spawned more pirated copies in less than normal time, another irritating fact) have just worked reverse psychology on the masses and made it a FAD. It is now a bandwagon to watch it, to know it, to discuss it on streetcorners, in the homily and over dinner. Eargh, more than anything, I dislike bandwagons too.

Second, reactions are becoming redundant. It's getting pretty predictable these days-- either you become angry, defensive, skeptical or one of those this-book-is-my-bible fanatics. Kaya dedmahan na lang.

Third, mahal ko si God, pati si Jesus (hi Zarah, yok hahaha joke). Ganun.

We were discussing jobs and college over dinner a while ago. Sabi ni Bianca gusto niya mag-Nursing-- kasi yun ang sabi nila. Go where the money is. Kahit labag sa kalooban mo. These days, it's a luxury to even dream of what you want.

Doesn't anyone find it troubling? Na hanggang Nursing na lang tayong lahat kasi ganun yung kapalaran ng Pinas? We have so much more to give, we can be a lot more than that.

I may be idealistic, but it's the hope of something better that keeps us resilient. I hope I won't lose that.

Anyway.

I was looking around for a particular comic and came across this. Hahaha, my thoughts exactly. It reminds me of a friend's shirt, which has the Computer Problem Solving Flow Chart on it. Saya rin nun.

i'll be watching the TDVC not because of all the hoolabaloo but because i loved the book and would like to see how they made such a complicated story to a film. i treat it as entertainment - nothing more.

Yeah, it would be good if people just stop all the fuss and watch it for FUN.
